Tom Brady makes surprise comeback from retirement after six weeks

Tom Brady, one of the best players in NFL history, has announced his return for his 23rd season, only six weeks after retiring.

Last month, the 44-year-old quarterback announced his retirement from football after winning a record-tying seven Super Bowls.

Brady, on the other hand, has stated that he has "unfinished business" and will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"These past two months I've realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands," he said on social media.

"That moment will arrive. But that isn't the case right now. I adore my teammates, as well as my loving family. They are the ones who make it all possible. I'm returning to Tampa for my 23rd season."

Brady led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl victories after being picked with the 199th choice in the 2000 draft.

He joined the Buccaneers in 2020 and helped them win the Super Bowl in his first season, earning him his fifth Most Valuable Player award.

He led Tampa Bay back to the playoffs last season as a three-time NFL season MVP, and he still had a year left on his contract with the Bucs when he announced his retirement.

The team had yet to sign a new quarterback, and when questioned about Brady's return earlier this month, Bruce Arians stated, "That door is never closed."

Brady nearly failed to pull off a remarkable comeback from a 27-3 deficit in the play-offs, as the Bucs lost 30-27 to the eventual Super Bowl winners, the Los Angeles Rams, in his final game of the 2021 season.

Last season, he set a career high with 5,316 throwing yards and holds the all-time passing yardage (84,520) and touchdowns records (624).
