Following strong evidence that the emirate has entered the "recovery phase" of the epidemic, Abu Dhabi has amended its Covid-19 travel limits and guidelines.
The green list system has been eliminated for all travelers flying into the emirate, according to amended regulations from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
Inbound passengers who are fully vaccinated no longer need to do a PCR test before boarding their flight.
Upon arriving, they must still present an official Covid-19 immunization certificate with a legible QR code.
Inbound travelers who have not been vaccinated must still produce a negative PCR test result obtained within 48 hours of their scheduled departure, or a Covid-19 recovery certificate dated within 30 days of departure with a readable QR code.
Children under the age of 12 are not required to pay.
Travelers, regardless of their immunization status, are no longer required to take an on-arrival PCR test at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The testing facility, however, is still available at the airport for individuals who want to take a test for AED40 per swab.
Travelers are encouraged to take the PCR test at the airport in order to activate their green pass on the Al Hosn app, even though it is not required to enter Abu Dhabi.
Many indoor tourist destinations, such as malls, hotels, theme parks, and restaurants, still need the use of the app.
Tourists who have been vaccinated can display their Covid-19 vaccination certificate or show their entire vaccination status on their home mobile app to gain access to public areas.
